My name is Rania and I am the founder of Northbound Journeys. I work as a freelancing photographer & videographer with a strong passion for a simpler lifestyle, nature and to live life to it’s fullest.
I’ve spent years writing about my everyday life and sustainability on my blog Rowan Tree but I felt I was missing something.
I care for the environment and I do not think that we need to fly across the globe to see great things, have awesome experiences and create memories that will last a lifetime. We can explore our backyard and surroundings during evenings and weekends, and we can travel in our own countries a lot more.
Why work hard and save up money to go travel once a year, only to sit in a chair by the pool with a beer in your hand, when you can go on more active travels and have a lot more adventures in your everyday life? I strongly believe that it is all about the journey and the experiences along the way. It’s about nature and being on the road, wild and free – not the destination.
With this blog I hope to inspire you to explore and travel simple and in a more sustainable way by bringing you inspiring footage, travel journals and guides regarding gear, clothes and how to make food on the road. I will also write about the benefits of spending time in nature and traveling more actively.
I am a spontaneous, free spirited person madly in love with golden sunsets, misty mornings and to walk barefoot through the grass with a cat walking beside me and I am often seen with a cup of coffee in my hand. I have my base in the Northern countryside of Sweden so naturally this blog will mainly focus on travels through Scandinavia / the north.
You are more than welcome to tag along on my nordic adventures!
