Outdoor bouldering season is finally here. I started climbing last fall and I have loved being in the gym. I’ve gotten to know the climbing community which consists of a lot of really great people! I have also had a lot of time to work on my technique and strength (which has improved tremendously).
But oh wow have I been dying to get outside. I love being outdoors, as you all know, and having yet another “excuse” to head into nature and spend a day outside with friends is awesome. To finally feel real rock under my fingertips instead of colourful holds in a gym, to feel the sun on my face and hear birds chirp as I climb… Yes please!
Last weekend it finally happened. Me and Dan headed out to Morsviken in Mellanfjärden with some friends and climbed for a few hours.
I had a lot of fun and forgot to try and get some footage of myself climbing, but I climbed three problems and topped two of them which feels great since this was my first time outside. When I wasn’t climbing I was either spotting the other ones, taking photos or I just sat barefoot on a rock and soaked in the sun and sounds of nature.
Walking back to the car in the setting sun I felt truly happy. Our bodies where tired but our spirits high, being in nature and working out are two things that really boost how you feel.
I am so happy that summer is finally here and I look forward to spending a lot more weekends being out like this. We’ve ordered new pegs for Dan’s tent as well as pots & pans for our new outdoor stove (which I can’t wait to show you guys) so soon we can camp as well which I am really excited about.
