Holiday hike on North Mountain
Long time no see everyone, I hope all of you have had a lovely Christmas and a great start to the new year!
The holidays have been ever so busy for me and I’ve let my camera and social media rest quite a bit. Which for me I guess is part of being on holiday. It’s good to be back though and I can’t wait to fill you in on what I have been up to.
Me and Dan are quite the active couple and we’re always keeping ourselves pretty busy. If it’s not with work than it’s projects, social gatherings or climbing. So when the weekend arrives we make sure to head out to wind down and breathe in some fresh air.
During the holidays we headed up on Norra Berget (North Mountain) for a short hike.

The pines where heavy with snow and the sun shone beautifully through the glistening branches. Since we were on higher ground we actually got to see the sun for a change. It does not reach down into the city during winter so feeling it warm our faces was more than welcome.

This man. Never have I felt more lucky, grateful and happy for the way life turns out. The chances of us meeting where small, yet meet we did and he quickly swept me off my feet. My friend and adventure comrade, always there supporting me and making me see the world in a whole new light.
As a former wilderness guide he’s teaching me about making a fire, carving spoons, tying different knots and how to properly dress against the cold. Instead of just quickly finishing installing a light or building something he includes me, has we watch, take part and learn. He’s teaching me about music and science and he introduced me to climbing and have made me appreciate working out for the first time in my life.
But most of all he makes me laugh, he makes me grow as a human being and he’s there by my side exploring life with me. The love I feel for this Canadian is beyond what words can describe.
